Shannon,

I had one made by a friend who is a fine repairman. A competent
repairman ought to be able to find you a rod the same diameter as the
peg you already have. I would be surprised if 2 feet of metal plus a
non-slip 'foot' would cost $100, but if it did, it's money well spent. I
have played my Bass standing next to the soprano in the Argento "To Be
Sung Upon the Water".
