Stanley and Naomi Drucker in Concert on August 6 and 7 at International =
Clarinet Association ClarinetFest 2011 in Northridge, California
Clarinetists Stanley and Naomi Drucker will be in concert with the =
ClarinetFest Orchestra, John Roscigno, conductor, on Saturday, August 6 =
=96 8:00 PM in the Main Hall of Valley Performing Arts Center on the =
campus of California State University =96 Northridge. This will be part of =
the International Clarinet Association=92s ClarinetFest 2011.
The Druckers will be soloists in Edward Thomas=92 Fantasy for Two =
Clarinets, written for and premiered by them. Stanley Drucker will also =
perform Rossini=92s Introduction, Theme, and Variations. Other composers =
on this program include Johann Mann, Jean Francaix, von Weber, Igor =
Drukh and Anthony Girard.
The Druckers will be in concert again on Sunday, August 7 at 3:00 PM at =
the VPAC Main Hall, performing Mendelssohn=92s Concert Piece No. 2, Op. 114.
Stanley Drucker will also lead a masterclass on Friday, August 5 at 1:00 PM.

At the conclusion of the 2008-2009 season, New York Philharmonic =
Principal Clarinet Stanley Drucker celebrated 60 years as a member of =
the Orchestra and announced his retirement. In honor of his 50th =
anniversary, and in recognition of his highly respected and widely =
acknowledged musical excellence and dedication, he was named Musical =
America's 1998 Instrumentalist of the Year. He has made approximately =
190 solo appearances with the Philharmonic since joining it at age 19. =
The Philharmonic estimates that he has performed in 10,200 concerts, =
which is approximately 70% of the total number of their concerts since =
1842. He was Principal Clarinetist for a record 48 years, playing under =
9 Music Directors, among them Bruno Walter, Dmitri Mitropolous, Leonard =
Bernstein, Pierre Boulez and Zubin Mehta. He has performed in 60 =

Naomi Drucker, co-director of the American Chamber Ensemble, has =
performed, recorded and toured with the New York Philharmonic. She has =
performed around the world, and has appeared as soloist with the Nassau =
Symphony Orchestra, New York Virtuosi, Philharmonia Virtuosi, Massapequa =
Symphony, Long Island Baroque Ensemble, Long Island Symphony and West =
Islip Orchestra. She has given performances at the International =
Clarinet Convention in Paris, Toronto, Pittsburgh and Washington, DC. =
With her husband Stanley Drucker, she has performed on a tour of eleven =
cities in Japan, at the East Meets West Music Festival in Sweden, at the =
International Clarinet Congress in Paris and at the Mykonos =
International Chamber Music Festival. A graduate of Hofstra University =
where she is an Adjunct Professor of Music, she received the George M. =
Estabrook Distinguished Alumni Award for career achievement.
