Thank you so much for the advice, all of you! I really appreciate it.

Oliver, I really loved that picture of your family, and I'm glad that you
seem to really appreciate them. While nobody else in my family plays
instruments, playing music has made me appreciate my family more. They've
always supported me, coming to performances, driving me hither and yon,
getting me lessons, and doing everything to further me as a musician. No
matter if you're playing or listening, music always has the effect of
bringing people together.

I am also trying not to get sucked into buying an expensive instrument just
for the sake of it, but given that this is the first time I've been able to
purchase my own instrument, I am probably more excited than is wise...

Gary: Unfortunately, ClarinetFest isn't an option for me. I would love to
go at some point, but this year it isn't going to happen. I will go
someday, though!

Matija: I've long been thinking about the wood versus plastic debate. Part
of me really wants a wooden instrument, but I suppose I would consider
plastic if the sound quality was comparable and the instrument was cheaper.

Bob: I plan on doing just that, and asking a an old local repair shop.
Unfortunately, I can't wait to buy my instrument until school starts- my
instrument is being paid for by someone else and it's something of a "use it
or lose it" deal.

Thank you again!

Emma
