I have played around with velcro. I have some 2 sided velcro that works out=
pretty well. If you make it slightly smaller so it will be snug and push i=
t on, it holds just fine and does not slip. =

I still prefer my usual array of ligatures, which are metal. I have mostly=
considered the velcro for mouthpieces that are slightly off sized that do =
not comfortably use a standard sized lig or for use in a pinch with student=
s who forget, step on, break their ligatures. It would work great in an eme=
rgency.

To answer the question in the post, use what works for you and what you lik=
e. =

t ligature you ever had. I saw in the book of David Pino (The clarinet and =

g about velcro. Today I=B4ve tryed a rubberband as ligature. It works fine,=

150 $ on an ordinairy ligature, as long as my velcro ring is doing a fine j=
ob?
