If its a 30 ear old Amati it's hardly worth any effort whatsoever. I started
on such a thing and it was appalling, and not a cheap one either. Worst
clarinet I ever saw in my life, not in terms of looks but mechanics, sound
and response. A student of mine recently showed up with an old Amati (he
bought at a junk shop in order to practice repadding and stuff like that)
the keywork of which is so soft, it bends under the fingers every time you
press a key. Totally useless rubbish.

Don't oil clarinets with their keys still on, lest you spoil the pads.
Remove the keys and bath it in almond oil for several days, wipe the oil and
let it dry for several weeks. But according to my restorer that is necessary
only in rare cases of complete drying out.
Cork expands under steam. But not much. I wrap it with dental floss when
necessary and before I have a new one fixed.
Old "fish skin" pads will probably be brittle or even torn and will in all
likelihood not seal properly.

best wishes

main problem is the cork. It is sort of "dried-up", and the instrument has
become wobbly. Any suggestions how to get the cork expand? Will grease do
it? =
