I remember Ed Pillinger telling me, circa 2002-2003, that there was a
growing trend for more and more open mouthpieces.

... you can see that the upper bound on mouthpiece tip opening has grown
by about 0.2mm -- doesn't sound much, but a lot in mouthpiece terms ... :-)
