It's amazing that in all the time I've been playing woodwinds (not all of
them, tho) I've never heard one of my co-players talk about oiling the keys
of their horns. I was taught about it by one of my two coaches and try to
do it a couple of times a year. It's amazing how much gunk gets into the
moving parts (and in bore oiling, I try to get under the tone holes, too,
because they're also dirt traps). I can pretty well tell when the key
response starts to inch down. The alternative, I suppose, is to have a
repairman/tech do the work . . . but I wonder how many clarinetists out there
actually do their own key oiling because I don't seem to recall a thread about
it (although I don't read every word of every thread, either).

Loc-Tite and nail polish will keep the screw from backing out, but they're
still first aid and don't address the underlying problem, which is that the
screw is binding inside the moving part of the assembly - the hollow rod in
the case of your rings. You should be able to torque a screw quite hard so
it doesn't work loose. Of course, if keys don't fit well they can bind
when
screws are that tight, so that needs to be adjusted. You might see if your
repair tech can (and is willing to) adjust the fit inside the rod (usually
by reaming it very slightly) so it turns freely on the screw without moving
it. Also, the screw needs to be lubricated - a dry screw is more likely to
bind.
