The one I'm looking at is the 560. I can see that the bell is held at the bottom
contact point. I'm wondering how much of the weight on the bass is held there,
and how much is held on the other side where it's leaning on the stand. Is all
the stress on the bell side of the stand, or does the stand hold weight at both
contact points? It appears from pictures that the bass is leaning into the top
contact point, therefore taking some of the weight as well. I play on a student
bass to low Eb, so no worries about low C bass breakage stuff. I'm interested in
this particular stand because of the option to leave the peg extended (I know
that entails adjusting the part that holds the bell).

Hercules actually makes two bass clarinet stands. Their newer model is as
you describe, very much like the K&M in operation. The original model
(still for sale) does in fact hold the instrument by the bell; see
