Clarinet Music by Steven R. Gerber to Be Performed at American Composers =

Alliance Festival Concert at Manhattan=92s Nimoy Thalia Theater on June 15

Steven R. Gerber=92s Duet for solo clarinet, and the World Premiere of his =

Dialogues for clarinet and piano will be performed by clarinetist Alan =

Kay, with the composer at the piano on Wednesday, June 15 =96 7:30 PM at =

the Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theater at Symphony Space, 2537 Broadway at =

95th Street in Manhattan. This will be part of the American Composers =

Alliance Summer Festival 2011.

Duet was written for clarinetist Alex Fiterstein, who gave its first =

performance at Bargemusic in Brooklyn. It is in one movement, about 7 =

minutes long, and is in three sections; a prologue, an epilogue, and in =

between a double fugue on motifs by Robert Parris and Yehudi Wyner. =

Dialogues, is a new one-movement work lasting about seven minutes and is =

much more on the atonal end of the spectrum than most of the composer=92s =
