Just because it's not adjustable doesn't mean you can't move it. I like my thumbrests high up on all my horns. I can remember when my favorite (now,lamentably deceased) tech fixed my tenor sax. He desoldered, moved and resoldered the thumbrest and handed the sax to me. "Here, see how you like this." "ok, OUCH!!!" "Oh sorry . was that still a little warm?"
