Thanks, David, for revealing the name of the manufacturer of our favorite stand. I bought a nickel-plated one from gostring.com for $21.95.
It will undoubtedly become a part of my estate!

The only printing on it says W. Germany. The threads stripped on one of the thumb screws about 5 years ago, so I had to drill and tap a new hole and make a new thumb screw for it. Call me CHEAP! But when I get ready to buy another, it will definitely be one like this, or smaller and lighter.

I have abused mine for 30 years, carting it to kiddie concerts, etc. It folds up a bit shorter than a regular folding stand, but is a bit heavier, and thus more stable. A quick check on the web shows the price at $34.95 - probably you can find it for less. A music shelf extender is available, as is a carrying bag. Like Oliver, I'd buy another if I needed to replace it. One feature is that you can set is very low to the floor, the better to see your chamber music colleagues. (That's an advantage, right?!?!?) String groups that I know seem to like this stand for that reason.
