Forest,

I think the instruments I described were before the time you mention.
They were called "Evette & Shaffer Master Model". They were produced
during the 40's-60's. I don't know when Buffet bought Evette &
Schaffer, but it might have been around that time, which would
explain the use of the name (brand name recognition). I wouldn't be
surprised if after a while, they abandoned the long, name in favor of
the shorter 'Evette'.

In the years the Evette/Schaffer were manufactured, Buffet made three
levels of "student" instruments.
The Evette/Schaffer was the best of the three. It's model number was
the E-13. The next instrument down, the Evette
Master-Model, was the E-12 and the entry level instrument, simply
