I have one of those K models, and it was my very first clarinet (1967).
Everybody and his brother has played it. I was allergic to nickel, and had
the keys stripped and plated in silver when I got it. The plating wore off,
so I just had it laquered, which later wore off and I covered the worn
places with nail polish. I sent it out to be totally overhauled for the
first time ever last summer. It was stripped and replated in silver,
resprung, oiled, repadded, and sent back to me (all in the original orange
faux-leather wooden case!). It is a beautiful clarinet, and is on loan to a
student in need. And it is better than anything I have seen from Buffet
lately!
