A local clarinetist brought in a Conn "Armored" clarinet a few weeks ago.
The body was apparently hard rubber, clad with metal. It was, as you might
expect, quite heavy, but it really sounded great!

The metal clarinet in my personal collection is a Walter Mueller "The Empire
State" model. It has no really distinguishing features, except that, unlike
most metal clarinets, it breaks down in the center and thus fits a more
normal-sized case. But it plays fine. I have a couple of WOODEN eBay
acquisitions that might be worth investigating for possible electrification.

If you have to mic a saxophone, the rest of the band is TOO LOUD!
