I think in at least one performance Steffens played a cadenza by Maazel.

broadcasting the first Weber's clarinet concerto played by Karl-Heinz
Steffens under the lead of Lorin Maazel conducting the Bavarian Radio
Symphony Orchestra.
The cadenza in the first movement was very long and it's the first time
I listen to it. Likely, it has been made by Steffens himself. It was
not always well in tune with the style of the piece, but it had a few
very nice aspects.
I hope to listen to it again... perhaps will find a way to re-listen it
directly from the web.
Best regards,
Diego
