Thanks Fernando,
The I made a small mistake with my spelling and the word is spelt=20
'atrezando', very close to your atrazando. Holding back makes sense as =
it's=20
in the Meno section of the 2nd movement (Giga - Quadrilha Caipira).
I would love to hear your audio files from this piece. You can send them =
to=20
my home email.
It's the first time I've played or heard this piece and I think it is an =

excellent work with many interesting things to listen for.
Regards

Hi Brian!
I am already at home but, unfortunely, I do not have that part anymore.
I`ve recorded that piece (playing principal) in 1998 with National =
Symphony
- Brazil.
Maybe the word is 'atrasando' or 'atrazando' that means rallentando =
(holding
back).
If you are interested, I can send the audio files to you.
Hope it helps.

Best,

Fernando Jos=E9 Silveira

Hi everyone,
I'm currently rehearsing Villa-lobos Bachianas Brasilieras no.7 and =
there is

a marking of 'altrezando' on the clarinet part in the 2nd movement. I =
have
tried online translators etc and the best I can come up with is a form =
of
the Spanish verb 'rezar' wich translates as 'to say'. If anyone can help =
it
would be much appreciated.
Thanks
