Please do not pre-suppose my objectives. I have retained almost all of your
comments on this list on things Mozart over several years, and am quite well
aware of the history and all the points you and others have expressed over
time. Although I haven't read your "The Mozart Forgeries" yet, I do know of
them, and hope to get around to it and some of your other books soon. I
respect your opinions and scholarly advice enormously. I have never had the
opportunity to attend one of your lectures, but would welcome the
opportunity if your ever give one again in the Washington D.C. area. As a
member of the ACM and IEEE, I have also read several of your articles in
those organization publications as well, particularly the Annals of the
History of Computing.

I don't have the space or time to plant soy beans or watch them grow. I can
spend an hour and read the comments (opinions) of the Franz Giegling
Critical Report for the Baerenreiter NMA edition, I see no harm in that (If
I can ever find an English translation). I will treat them as just that,
commented opinions; and as you yourself are so quick to point out, we don't
have the Mozart autograph in hand and Mozart will never be alive to consult
with and we shouldn't attempt to put words in his mouth. Maybe one day, in
someone's attic, or stuffed in pile of some forgotten library's manuscript
pile, the missing copy that Stadler supposedly pawned in Mozart's hand will
be found; and the debate will no doubt continue again in even a more heated
fashion.

In the meantime, my request still stands. Does anyone have any information
or a link to this document translated in English?
