If I'd specialise on Mozart I'd have the proper instruments made. If some c=
larinetist would decline offers to perform Brahms on the ground he was not =
M=FChlfeld I'd respect that. It would indeed be quite Brahmsian. =

If you knew some of the stories found in ancient chinese music books, I don=
't think you'd find me snobbish any more (in comparison). =

Sorry, Nielsen is not my cup of tea either. 25 years ago a clarinetist frie=
nd of mine tried hard to convince me he was great. There is too much noise =
and too little developing variation. I always felt sorry Webern did not dis=
cover the basset horn.

(I wrote Haeckel, but it's Heckel, Biebrich (20 min ride from were I live).=
I checked the spelling on the bell of an original clarinet of his I have. =
I also have an early original alto sax he made (without low Bb).
