Thank-you. I forgot about the extended range when I made that statement. I did however, consider this to be a possible problem as I was writing. I realized I didn't know the fingerings as I was writing the low notes but I tried to play it safe by only using stepwise, 3rds, and maybe a 5th here or there. While the bassett clarinet and bassett horn are different instruments, my basis for thinking it would be smooth to write those intervals was the mozart clarinet concerto and they various versions I've heard all contained stepwise and 3rds through the extended lower register. I really would like to try a bassett instrument sometime soon. Im just curious... do you have a personal preference over the clarinet or horn?
