YEs! it did answer my question. I'm so glad you brought up the fact it goes to low C!!!! Even though I know that, I somehow forgot and was writing as if it could only go to E. Now I can do all kinds of crossing between the bass clarinet and basset horn and with the basset horn and 1st and 2nd clarinets.

So then.. is it ever a common practice to use tenor or alto clefs? This is just a thought... I think it would look nice to see 2 treble clefs, an alto clef, and a bass clef as if I was writing a string quartet. I could always do that for the look of the score and then make the actual individual part the correct clefs.
