I have no choice. In an orchestra or concert band we sit even when soloing.
In a dance or big band we must stand for solos. Small jazz groups or
"combos" always stand, except when they sit. If you sit correctly(which I
consider, back erect, on edge of chair) it should make no difference. No
teacher ever asked me to stand.
