Kathy,

I decided it would be fun to make a video of me playing one of these sonatas on recorder. I'm sharing it with you to illustrate what I beleive about Handel's music. If you put your binoculars on you can even see the score!! microscopic as it is, it really is synchoronized with the music. It is accompanied by finale. Another thing I wanted to mention to you... if you have software like fianle or siblius you might prefer to use that rather than music minus one. The quality will be much less, however, you can change tempos in any measure at any beat in the measure so it will really be more of a personal interpretation and I think thats worth the quality sacrifice. It may seem ridiculous to sit and click in all the notes of the accompaniment... but fortunately every song I have ever looked for has been avaiable in midi files on the internet. Finale opens midi files and converts it to notation but it uses the "low quality" instruments. I simply cut and paste the notes it converted to a blank file with the better quality (garritan) instruments and then change tempos and articulations etc...

just for the record, I only read through this sonata once before recording it. It was just for fun and to display a few of the things I personally beleive to be charicteristic of Handel. It is all based on what I have heard and what I like.

This is the most fun ive had in weeks!! (how sad is that!)
