Subj: [kl] Update on my son in Tokyo ...

I've received a number of inquiries about my son, who resides in the
north Tokyo area.

He was luckily spared any injury or material disaster - things falling
out of bookcases, a bottle of sake broken, nothing too serious. My
in-laws and extended family, including one who lives in the Sendai area,
were also spared any real damage or injury.

The upcoming concert my son was conducting has been canceled, of course,
so we'll see how that goes in the near future.

Thank you for your concern, and all my best wishes for those in dire
straits in Japan.
