Does anyone have any recommendations or opinions re the Copeland concerto recordings?

Most of the more recent versions sound very ordinary to me, compared to the Goodman/Copeland original on CBS - despite technically better playing in many cases. Modern close recording techniques are mainly to blame in many cases, I think - particularly Sharon Kam's, which is really disappointing.

Tim is correct. Copland revised the Concerto at Benny Goodman's request
because of a couple of too-high notes.
