I'm trying to figure out what brand of synthetic reed I've used before on bass clarinet. I thought maybe it was a Bari reed, but those have parallel lines on them (like wood grain); the one I had didn't (it had a smooth surface). I'd say it's been 3-4 years since I had that reed (it went along with a broken down Rene Dumont 2-piece body bass clarinet I sold years ago on Craigslist). I can't find a picture of a Bari Star to see if that could've been it. I have a Bari Bb clarinet one and it doesn't look the same (other than obvious size differences, etc).

The buyer wanted everything, even after stating he was more likely to turn it into a lamp than fix it. He was the only person that showed interest, so I cut my losses and went with it. Too bad, because along with that reed was a great Selmer C* mouthpiece (my current setup includes a Vandoren B45; I think I would like that Selmer better). I'm sure he sold the BAM case for a good amount of money; it was in great condition.

Suggestions as to brand that I'm looking for? I don't remember what was written on it (if anything).

Rachel
