I agree with all your comments Lelia. I especially liked the sound of the
horns in the Weber - spine tingling. I also agree about the programme at
first sight the pieces might seem unrelated but the concert held your
attention throughout leaving you sadly bereft when it finished. The hall at
Keswick is relatively small (but nicely proportioned). The orchestra just
fitted on stage without seeming to be crushed. You could hear a pin drop
during the performance and be deafened by the final applause.

We in Cumbria don't get to see many regular top class concerts now that the
Northern Sinfonia have their own splendid base in Newcastle so it was a
special treat for us to have this subsidised event in Keswick - needless to
say the place was packed.

I once had a cat "Baggins" that was fond of the clarinet but most are either
suspicious or downright anti.
