This year's Claremont Clarinet Festival will take place June 13-18 on the
beautiful campus of Pomona College.

The Festival is an intimate, six-day residential workshop in solo
performance, featuring three public concerts by participants.
Participation is open to college students, young artists,
performer/teachers, accomplished adult amateurs, and exceptional high school
seniors, by audition. All players perform in two or three masterclasses,
daily coachings, a private lesson, and in clarinet ensembles.

New applicants are required to send a a CD, an mp3 or video link.

This year's guests are David Howard, bass clarinetist with the LA
Philharmonic, and William Powell, professor of clarinet at California
Institute of the Arts. Professional pianist coaches perform with the
participants; in 2011 they are Twyla Meyer and Dr. Althea Waites. Frances
Marsden leads an introduction to Alexander Technique for clarinetists.

performance and study.
