Hello Tom,

I just saw your posting and wanted to respond.

First - Backun Musical Services does not sell any product to Woodwind/
Brasswind. They may have purchased products from a wholesale supplier.
Having said that it is difficult to know how the pieces in question were
stored or humidified or how many times they have been tried or sent out on
approval. If you look at the back of the barrel it will have a code.
(something like 062267) If you let me know that code I can likely tell it's
history, when it was made and who it was sold to.

In ANY CASE, we take customer service very seriously at Backun Musical. If
you contact me "off list" I will arrange a replacement current production
Backun barrel at no cost, even though it was not purchased from us or an
authorized Backun dealer. Then you can experience what the Backun products
can do firsthand. That way, we can also make sure that the tenon fitting and
bore properly meet specifications. Hopefully the barrel will exceed your
expectations!

You can contact me at : morrie@-----.com or phone 6042055770 (101)

With best wishes,

Morrie Backun
