Ah, thank-you for that. that makes sense. I wasn't even aware that the wood didn't touch on the inside (well in my case it probably does). Well Unfortunately, the damage is done and I cant sand anything now. I still want to try some of their other barrels at some point so I will keep some sandpaper handy just in case. Is it totally safe to just sand the inside of the barrel like that though?

The tenon on your A is apparently very slightly larger than your Bb tenon, just enough to stress the barrel and ultimately get it stuck. A little hand work with a piece of sandpaper can fix that. Ringless barrels are cracks looking for an opportunity to happen.

I realized that it happened while I was putting the barrel on becuase I heard it crack. It fit perfectly on my Bb clarinet but difficulty on my A clarinet. I put TONS of cork grease on AND I shaved the cork down. I called backun to ask if they werent made for A clarinets and they said it should fit and told me that I must not be putting enough cork grease on or I must be forcing it. Basically, I understood my conversation to mean, its not possible they did anything wrong so we dont care about your problems.

I didn't have to force it on that much it was just difficult to get it on. What i was wondering if maybe the wood is just totally dried out or something considering the weather and the fact that they shipped it to a retail warehouse and it just sat in there for however long before shipping. I really don't wnat another one anymore I would rather just write off the 100$ rather than continue this hassle.
