I paid $300 for my new Selmer Series 10 Bb in 1973. I was graduating from
college, and thus really had no (known) further use for it at the time, but
I convinced myself that I would keep playing, for my own enjoyment if
nothing else. Just as it was when I begged my folks to buy me my own
clarinet after I graduated from high school, my promise that I would
continue to play was kept. Thank God for that $75 used Rene Dumont!
