Hi

I do that a lot. There are a few things to try:

Use a slightly softer reed than you would usually use on clarinet. I find it a little more forgiving if I am playing with a slightly different than usual embouchure.
Use a synthetic reed if you can find one that works well for you. (The Legere signature reeds are pretty good when doubling.) At least you won't have a dry reed problem.
Make sure that you are in tune. After playing baritone (or bass) sax, I find that my pitch is lower when I pick up the clarinet, even if I was in tune before I started playing. (You might need a shorter barrel.)
In a large ensemble, you might need more microphone volume (if microphones are a factor).
If microphones are a big factor, you might need different adjustments (treble-bass balance, etc.).

I am a baritone sax player that doubles on clarinet. By itself, I play fairly
well on clarinet (good sound etc.) but, when I have to switch over to clarinet
from bari in the middle of a song, (dance band) I have trouble sounding decent.
Any suggestions?
