Can anyone recommend a music notation software other than Finale and
Sibelius that is Mac compatible? Thanks to all.

Fred,
It probably depends on what you want to use it for. If none of the "Garage Band" type programmes will do what you want and Finale Notepad isn't powerful enough You can either grit your teeth & buy Finale or Sibelius or, if you have a recent Mac, spend money on a Windows operating system and use Braeburn's programme;-(don't know its name but I've heard good reports), Cubase or whatever you like. If you will be running a lot of Windows progs. in the future that is worth considering. As for me I think Finale is still value for money and if you work through the tutorials it is not too difficult to use: I find it easier than Sibelius.
Martin
