Thank you to everyone who replied to this. Dan, I'll watch for the new
edition of Opus Ultimum in June.

Doug, is your Greek version of "the last trumpet" your own guess at a
reverse translation from a later Latin or English version, or have you
studied the early Greek sources of Paul? Do we know with any certainty what
Greek textual material the early Latin versions of Paul were based on? I
realize this isn't the right forum for a real discussion of Biblical issues,
but I've found myself fascinated over the past couple of years by the whole
topic of the textual evolution of what eventually became the accepted canon
of scripture.

I want you to know that the matter of trombones is spoken of in the second
edition of my book, "Opus Ultimum: The Story of the Mozart Requiem." I just
submitted the manuscript, but it won't be out until June. Neal Zaslaw of
Cornell University wrote:

You can still get the first edition from Amazon.com, but the second edition
has something that is beyond belief, namely a photograph, a real photograph
(!!) of Constanze Mozart taken in 1840 using Daguerreotype photography, and
the picture is in the book.

So make me rich. Buy the book, and if you have not bought or read "The
Mozart Forgeries," (also on Amazon), you are definitely on the losing end of
the stick.
