I have the opposite problem: as cold as -32 F (the C and F temperature scales meet at -40) with 11% humidity, sometimes drier!
I also use a reed case that controls the humidity; I think it is essential. In my case, being a Rico Artist, I tried their humidity control reed case first, and have stuck with it, since I like it. I've never tried the Vandoren Hygrocase, so I can't comment on them.

I also bought the hygrocase and I thoguht it was a bad use of 65$. For me, it was the same as leaving my reeds in the clarinet case. I felt the whole thing to be cheap quality and not worth it. I dropped it one time and it broke immediately. I still had warped reeds that were in that box. (my climate is northeast PA so it can get around 0 in the winter (F) and as much as about 90 in the summer.) I also doubted the humidity guage was accurate. I just had that feeling. If Kathy says it works in her case then I beleive it. For some reason it just didn't work for me.
