A Slovenian clarinet player Mate Bekavac played the Copland concert written
for Benny Goodman. In searching the original sheets he went to the Congress
library and find out that there were parts of the concert that were, as
Benny Goodman stated, too difficult to play so that A. Copland made a second
variation that was a bit easier. Bekavac took the original version and
played it superbly.
