I did see/hear one player move so violently that the Doppler effect was
audible on the intonation. I would say that is the upper limit!

I'm in general agreement with you but I'd like to raise two points.
Why shouldn't music be taken seriously? Various people have made the
statement "music should not be taken too seriously." as if this were a given
fact. No-one has yet justified it.
Secondly would those who are not distracted by a player's movements be
distracted by another player's stillness?
