What exactly did you answer me? That disliking anachronistic show-people is=
sexist? But I don't appreciate any of the people of whom you sent you-tube=
links as examples, exactly for the same reason. Why not quote Bruno Walter=
, Ren=E9 Leibowitz, Paul Zukofsky or Clara Haskil as examples for discrete =
and adequate movements? =

Most importantly though, exaggerated movements and other distracting manner=
isms are ruled out by various 18th and 19th cent clarinet/ other instrument=
al tutors. It is therefore simply wrong to perform music of that period in =
that way. Like playing wrong notes or the kind of "espressivo" crescendi To=
ny mentioned. Or using a bulky, tin covered, dreadnought clarinet in wrong =
pitch. =

I don't think we can afford fooling around, music is too serious. That appl=
ies to all ages and sexes. Whether or not Meyer blended with the Berlin Phi=
lharmonics is not for us to judge. I for one wasn't there. =
