Thanks for your comments.
Actually, the idea is not that my student would play Mozart's sketch on the G-clarinet (it doesn't feature bassett keys), I just mentioned it because Jim Lytthans wrote about the G in Turkish music. I should have changed the subject header, sorry.
The instrument in question is modern Austrian system. If it was historic, it might qualify as a clarinet d'amore, mightn't it? Unfortunately I am not aware of any repertoire for that particular instrument.
