If cracks are a problem in your climate you could well try the Buffet Greenline models.
If we are honest we are ALL still students. I have a largish number of different clarinets because I like them. Several of them have been played 'on loan' by others much more than I ever play them but all have appeared in public on occasion. However I estimate that 90% of my playing is on my Peter Eaton Bflat.
