While the player is the important component, psychological lifts given by beautifying the instrument (such as gold keys and even diamonds inlaid in the bell) as well as manicured hands, adds a great lift to one's playing.
It's like eating a hot dog or a filet de sole Lafayette avec une sauce de Creme fraische.
