Martin Frost is not only what incredible player but has quickly become a
huge icon for the next generation of musicians to follow. He's managed to
create very unique personality to the stage, something not normally
associated with most solo clarinet performers.
Kudos to this fine young musician. I look forward to the day when I can
experience one of his concerts live.
If you haven't had a chance to listen to the Aho concerto (which was written
for him), be prepared for the jaw to hit the floor. Absolutely amazing
control and presentation through the upper tiers of the register. And Kudos
to Aho for writing a splendid piece, something that will be most welcomed to
the clarinet repertoire.
Not a piece for the faint of heart!
