I am a 65 year old (broken down) chamber music and symphony clarinet
player. I currently own a set of Buffet R-13's, a set of Selmer 9*'s, a
Buffet Eb, a Selmer Bass, and a Triumph C Clarinet (does not play well at
all).

My active playing career ended about a year ago. I still get called
frequently and sit in for gigs on 2nd Clarinet, Eb and/or Bass. Also, I am
still actively playing chamber music.

My question is this. After almost 50 years of transposing all "C" parts on
Bb, I have a sudden yearning to own and play a C Clarinet. At this stage in
my playing, there is no real "need" for this, I'd just like to. I guess you
could say that reading Dan has finally gotten to me (I'd like to play the C
parts on the horn they were written for).

Bottom line - is this a wise thing to do (and why/why not).

Thanks list !
