I had to give up lessons when I was about your age. I started using
reading glasses and with a small blind spot, I couldn't focus on the
music well enough to follow my teacher's small practice/performance
group. Be sure you select a teacher experienced with students of middle
years and older. Since you are 'out of playing', the muscles in your
hands may be out of tone. Find some physical exercises for your fingers
and practice trajectories.
