"I mostly don't attend the concert hall because they play the same crap
over and over again. Boring!"

Hear hear!
There are many good reasons for not attending concerts; Cost, difficulty of travel, other engagements are three that come to mind; but unadventurous programming should be low on the list: I have heard unknown conductors with little known orchestras cast new light even on "old warhorses" like Beethoven's 6th symphony. I an more likely to avoid an orchestra whose first oboist thinks she (it usually is 'she') is charming snakes than I am to avoid one whose programming is un-adventurous or over-adventurous and I suspect from the audiences I have seen at both types of concert that my view is shared by a lot of us "lesser mortals'. I think we are entitled to know the qualifications of the 'expert' who made the comment so perhaps he would enlighten us.
