You can lower the pitch some by putting a wood or plastic rod in the bore.
This reduces the effective bore diameter.

Pitch Adjustment
Although the "string trick" works quite well on clarinet (I used it for a long time to lower an old High-Pitch A to c440 ) I don't think it works on flute.
While we are on the subject of "old-timer" tricks how many of you out there have ever preformed a pad 'repair' with the silver foil you used to get in Players or Capstan cigarettes. Ordinary foil won't do it as well, but 'clingfilm' or wide PTFE tape might.
