I have a Haynes that started life at 435. An excellent repair tech shortened the head joint, moved a tonehole, filled in some others enough to correct the pitch, and lengthened the footjoint in order to fix the scale. It plays very well now.

I thought this was true of all flutes until a few years ago when they
realized the design they were using was based on a 435 scale.
