Hmmm. The thing on the right in the NYT article picture doesn't look
like twisted metal. It looks like a big block of wood. The picture
on the Easton website of a paperclip contrabass looked like twisted
metal, as one would expect for something called a "paperclip". The
instrument on the right in the NYT article also looks shorter than the
paperclip contrabass pictured in the Easton website.

I saw stuff on contraaltos and contrabasses, but not contrabass altos.

The Leblanc website does not have many pictures of its clarinets.
There is no mention of paperclips.
