Rachel,

Have you tried printing the page in question? I'm not sure it's the same problem, but I have had a similar situation where, on the screen, the notes didn't line up, as you suggest. I found that if the notes were on the same line or the line above or below, Finale moves the 2nd and subsequent layers far enough off to one side or the other so they're not on top of each other. Multi-layers can make scores -- especially, small print -- a challenge to read. I haven't used Finale in a while, but a few years ago, I had a transcripton of the Meistersinger Overture for band that was so small I had to run the score off on 11x17 pages for rehearsal!
