Clinton,
=A0
I too believe the work to be a key gem in a crown of gems.=A0 But are you u=
nhappy with the spelling of Partitta?=A0 Fred put that spelling in because =
I asked him to. It's a long story.
=A0
Though I was never happy when Fred using a contrabass clarinet or a contrab=
assoon, tjat was his call.=A0 But neither of those instruments are suitable=
for a performance of the work, and for a key rason.=A0 The bass instrument=
is requeted to play pizicatto in two movements.

Catalog number 10100319 =

Composer MOZART, Wolfgang Amadeus (1756-1791) =

FENNELL, Frederick (1914-2004), editor =

Title Serenade No. 10 In B-flat; K. 361/370a 'Gran Partitta' [sic]
In his series of faithful, respectful editions of Mozart's works for winds,
Serenade No. 10 in B Flat, Gran Partitta, is truly a key gem in a crown of
gems. Scored for oboes, clarinets, basset horns, french horns, bassoons,
contra bassoon, and contrabass clarinet, it is, obviously, meant for select
wind ensembles. But, for advanced groups, this is a most memorable and
significant work. An excellent recording is available through Ludwig Music
on Kosei KOCD 31992712.
