Rachel,

I got a BAM double (the oval-shaped one) for my oboe and English horn,
to replace my ProTec double, which I didn't use because for me (an
older lady) it was too large and unwieldy and heavy, especially when
the large zippered side pocket was loaded. (Know anybody who wants to
buy a barely-used ProTec double oboe/EH case?)

The new BAM has backpack straps, and a very flat zippered compartment
on the front that would be sufficient for a large piece of sheet music
or two, but which does not accomodate a typical orchestra or band
folder. I have a tote bag which holds that and all the asst. flotsam
and jetsam that I seem to have to carry with me.

So far, I am liking the BAM case really much. It is SO lightweight!
And the backpack straps fit nicely. I don't know that I would run over
it with a truck, but for everyday comings and goings, it holds the
instruments securely, and protects them well.
